Students of classes II D and II E participated in the quiz. The quiz had following rounds:

• Visual round
• Buzzer round
• Rapid fire round
• Spellathon Round

4 teams participated in the quiz. Each child answered to the best of his/her ability and they were judged on the basis of knowledge, understanding, concept clarity and observation. The result of the quiz is as follows:

First Position - Jayant and Harsh (II D)
Second Position - Himanshi and Kashish (II E) & Harshit and Dishant (II E)

Vocabulary Building - Classes I & II

Different games and activities were taken up in classes I & II. Children participated with enthusiasm and enriched their word store. Following games were taken up:-

• Making baby words from big words.

Christmas Celebrations

To inculcate the message of Love & Peace, Christmas was celebrated on December 24, 2010. Santa Claus came dressed in Red- the shade of energy & happiness. Amidst singing of Carols & jingling of bells, the scene depicting birth of Jesus Christ in a stable & the visit of the three wise men was enacted. Tiny tots visited the church & lit candles.

Pidilite Christmas Activity (class I & II)

Children of classes I & II participated in Pidilite Christmas Activity. Each child was given a cutout of Christmas tree/snow man/ bells, a golden sparkle tube and poster color pack. Children colored the cutout and decorated it with sparkle. Participation certificate was given to each child. Children enjoyed doing this activity.

Christmas tree decoration (classes I & II)

It's December and the only thing one associates with this month is Christmas. A time to meet and greet family, it is a popular festival around the world. Christmas is one of the biggest celebrations for the people belonging to the Christian faith but is celebrated all over the world with great fervor & enthusiasm. Students of classes I& II participated in ‘Christmas Tree decoration’ activity today. Students brought Christmas tree and decorative material like small gifts, bells, stars etc. to decorate it. They also decorated the tree with cotton to show snow.

Fold- O -Fold (Class I)

Students of Class I participated in 'Fold-o-Fold' activity. Each child was given an origami sheet to fold and make any one thing. Children folded origami sheet to make tree, hut, bird, flower, boat, kite etc.

G.K. Quiz (Class I)

Students of classes II-A and II-E participated in GK Quiz. The quiz had following rounds:

My Piggy Bank (Class Prep)

Learning through experience is real fun for children. It enhances their thinking skills and helps them to comprehend the concept in a better and interesting way. The little ones of class Prep enjoyed painting earthen pots which further broadened their horizon of knowledge and inculcated the spirit of team work. Children enjoyed coloring their piggy banks with different colors & making various textures. Little ducklings tried to swim across the river overcoming the obstacles on the way.... like mixing colors, handling paint brushes etc.

Friday Activity - Design a table mat

Class I & II
Name of Activity : Design a table mat

Children of class I and II designed a table mat today. They did cotton printing, spray painting, thumb printing, used stencils, cut outs of flowers and leaves, pasted pulses, drawing and coloring fruits, vegetables, flowers etc and used decorative material like sequences, mirrors etc. on A4 sheet to decorate their mat. Children were also told the use of table mats. Each child used his/her own creativity to design it.

Inter school achievements

Poem Recitation Competition was organized for classes Pre-Nursery, Nursery & Prep on 10th December 2010 by Guru Tegh Bahadur School. Beautiful poems were selected on the given themes- animal kingdom, childhood, God's creation & if I were a girl.The budding talents of our school showcased their speaking skills by putting their heart & soul in poem recitation. The poem child labor & if I were a girl had a lasting impression on the minds of the audience & was appreciated by the judges also.

Friday Activity - Christmas Tree Decoration

To evoke the feeling of festivity and joy, Christmas activity was organized for children of Nursery and Pre-Nursery classes. Children decorated the cutouts of Christmas tree and bells beautifully using glitters and sequence. They were very excited and enthusiastic to see their decorated bells and Christmas tree.

Spray Painting Activity (Class I)

Students of class I participated in spray painting activity today. Students made floral designs, shapes, greeting cards using stencils colors and tooth brush on drawing sheets.

SPARSH - Grandpaents Day Out

Happy Hours school (KIIT WORLD , Pitampura celebrated 'SPARSH- GRANDPARENTS’ DAY OUT' by sweet little grand children as a mark of respect & regards for their grandparents’ on 4TH December 2010 in the school premises at 10:00 a.m. & 1:30 p.m. It also showcased talents of our budding artists of Nursery class giving everyone a glimpse- 'When tiny feet, tender hearts, trembling lips, shivering hands by loving teachers are prodded forward, comes alive, a wonderful & lively world where happiness is abundant & joy burns in every heart.' The occasion was graced by Dr. Subhash Arora, Dr. S.V.Eswaran, Dr. P.C.Bose, and Dr. (Mrs.) Sangeeta Bhatia & Mrs. Harinder Sraw who inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp. Grandparents’ of Dhruv Sharma & Dhruv Goel were our special guests’ as they were the first grandparents’ to arrive for the function. The programme commenced with Ganesh Vandana followed by Welcome song. The Play 'Dadi Ka Chimta' was well appreciated by the audience. A scintillating dance performance left the audience spellbound followed by a video 'Taare Zameen Par'. Grandparents’ participated in games-'Aaja Nachle', 'KIIT Hair Styling Saloon' & 'Make a Pyramid'. The chief guest (Dr. Subhash Arora) in his address said 'Grandparents’ are a delightful blend of laughter, caring deeds, wonderful stories and love, and they are as necessary to a child’s growth as vitamins.'
He also appreciated the efforts made by the students’ and the teachers’. The function concluded with a vote of thanks extended by our Advisor– Dr. Tripti Sakhuja followed by National Anthem. It was the enthusiasm and vivacity of the tiny tots which made the event a grand success.

Mask making (for class I and class II)

Students of classes I & II made beautiful animals’ face masks. Students’ of class -I did coloring in frog’s and monkey’s mask while face masks’ were drawn and colored by class II students’ themselves.

Funny News Reading

Funny news reading house competition was conducted in the school premises on December 2, 2010. Children were delighted to read and hear such humorous news headlines. They enjoyed a lot.

Finger Puppet Making Competition (class I)

Students of Class I made finger puppets using origami, ice-cream sticks, empty thread reels, cotton, wool etc. Students also composed short stories related to puppets. The result was as follows:

Role Play by Prep Class

Children of class Prep participated in role play activity based on the topic- Animals. Children wore face masks of different animals like- rabbit, lion, cat, dog. Some children were also dressed up as animals. They acted as animals and conversed with each other. Children enjoyed watching their friends enacting the role of different animals.

Class I sets up a Toy Shop

Today students of class I had set up a Toy Shop. The aim of this activity was to enhance children’s vocabulary & conversation skills. Children had brought their favorite toy from home.

Students of Class II participated in Color Art activity. Students used colors and wax to make floral designs.

Students of class I-A and I-E participated in the quiz. It was taken in the computer lab. The quiz had Visual round, Buzzer round, Spellathon round and Audio round.

Pencil Holder making Competition ( class I )

Students of class I participated in Pencil Holder making Competition. Students used waste material like pencil shavings, ice cream sticks etc. to make pencil holders. It was judged by Ms. Shubhi.

First position was bagged by Devraj Pratap Singh (I-A), Second by Varun Arora (I-C) while Vidhi Mittal(I-E)and Prachi Beniwal(I-A) got Third position.

Pranav Bisht(I-D) and Shashank Jain(I-B) got consolation prize.

Mera Parichay - An activity for class II

Mera Parichay activity was held in Class II.
Students enjoyed telling about themselves and their families in Hindi.

E.V.S Quiz was organized for class I

EVS Quiz was organized for classes I-C and I-D in which first position was bagged by Ashwika Vats and Ananya Diwakar of I D, second position by Aditya and Ansh Dua of I C while Bhavya Batra and Bhavya Dabas of I D got third position.

Weave a story competition (Class I)

Students of Class I participated in ‘Weave a story ‘competition. Parth Bisht narrated a story on “Kindness” using his imagination and got first position. Tanisha Sharma (I-C) and Suhani Gandhi (I-E) narrated their stories enthusiastically using attractive props and secured second position. Jeevansh Maini(I-C) got third position.
